The Find tab allows users to search for various mapping objects within the mapping window

Open Markup TabOpen User TabOpen Filter Tab

Open Fav(orites) TabOpen Info TabOpen Weather Tab

 

When the user clicks on the Find tab the following drop-down will appear.

 

 

Select a category to start the search/find process by clicking on the drop down list. After selecting a category all users will see the following width box:

 

 

The default width is 1,000 feet. The user can change this to another desired width. The width is the distance from the left edge of the mapping window to the right edge of the window. The width is displayed in the mapping window status bar.

 

Depending on the category selected above the user will see one or more input boxes to enter search criteria.

 

After filling in desired search criteria the user will see:

 

 

The default records to display in the result window is 500. The user can change this to another desired row count.

 

After clicking the "search" button, or pressing the <enter> key, the user will see results similar to this:

 

 

A single click on any record returned will redirect the mapping window by centering on the object selected and modifying the width of the window to the width in the Display Width box above.

 

Note: When a selection from the list above is made, a "default layer" that the selected object is on will be turned on in the Layer Menu. In the process, it may turn off a layer that you have already turned on including a Favorite Layer. For example, if you have the "House No. Only" layer turned on to display address points, then you do a "Find" on an address, the "House No. Only" layer will be turned off and the "Point Only" layer will be turned on.
