The Busy State status button sits between the Zoom Extent and Report buttons in the second row toolbar.

When the map is not busy then the busy state status is greyed out as displayed above and is inactive.

When the map is busy then the button becomes active as displayed below.

The map window (viewer) enters a busy state whenever it refreshes the display, and the busy state does not end until the data has been received from the server and the display is updated or refreshed. The busy state does not stop the user from performing other web page activity outside of the mapping window. However, many of these other web page activities interact with the mapping window and will appear to be not responding during the busy state.

If the busy state button is active (map is busy) for more than 10 - 15 seconds then it is possible that the refresh process halted. When this happens the user can stop the refresh process by clicking on the busy state button when busy. Most of the layers in this application have been optimized to execute and finish displaying before the 10 second mark.

To eliminate the busy state from taking too long to execute it is highly recommended that all desired layers be turned on after zooming in to desired area of the map.
