Toolbar Button - Select Mode

The Select button is located to the far left of the bottom row toolbar. You can access other select options from the Popup Menu - Select option.

 

 

The Select button is one button in a set of four that dictate the "mode" of the mouse pointer in the mapping window.

 

Go to Pan ModeGo to Zoom In ModeGo to Zoom Out Mode

 

These four buttons are "sticky" buttons. When clicked they appear to be pushed in. Only one of these four buttons can be pushed in at a time.

 

Select mode allows the user to select, or highlight, objects in the mapping window. Not all map objects are selectable.

 

Select One Object
Left-click on the desired object in the map to select, or highlight, only that object.
 
Select Multiple Objects
Hold the <shift> key down while left-clicking desired objects in the map to select, or highlight, several specific objects.
 
Select Area
Hold down the left mouse button and drag it over an area of the map to select, or highlight, all objects within that area. See Selection Mode under Help - Preferences for the difference between "Centroid" and "Intersection".

 

Double-click Objects

Double-Click an object to activate the Tab Menu - Links item and populate the Info (Map Object) and Trace tabs.
