Q1: I am trying to view items in govME map but all I see is . What should I do?

 

A: First, make sure you have met the System Requirements needed for your PC.

 

You are seeing the red X because the automated install has failed. This installation takes place when a user opens up this application. The install is automatic (when successful).

 

Use the following instructions to manually install the viewer:

Close all Internet Explorer windows.

Click here to download the viewer. Depending on your security settings you may see the following Security Warning ...

 

Click the "Run" button. You should now see the following Security Warning ... 

 

 

Click the "Run" button. If you already have an existing version of the MapGuide activex control then start at Step 1, Remove MapGuide Control immediately below. If not, then go to Step 2, Install MapGuide Control.

 

Step 1: Remove MapGuide Control. 

 

 

Select "Remove ..."  and click the Next button ...

 

 

Click the Finish button. Continue to Step 2, Install.

 

Step 2. Install MapGuide Control

 

 

Click the Next button...

 

 

Click the Next button...

 

 

Click the Next button...

 

 

Click the Finish button...

 

After install has completed close all unnecessary IE windows.

Reopen the govME Map window at http://govME.org/Map.

Before you click on anything you should see a map of the City of Tacoma.

If the map of Tacoma still does not display, you may have to click the Internet Explorer refresh button.
