Follow the suggestions below if you experience one of the following problems when trying to load a govME drawing:

• "Loading..."
• "Internet Explorer has blocked this site from using an ActiveX control in an unsafe manner.  As a result, this page may not display correctly."
• "Your security settings do not allow websites to use ActiveX controls installed on your computer.  This page may not display correctly. Click here for options..."

Q1: What do I need to run the govME drawing viewer?

A: To view govME drawings, you must have:

• Windows XP or better
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x or Later

Q2: No drawing appears. What should I do?

Note:  you may see "Internet Explorer has blocked this site from using an ActiveX control in an unsafe manner. As a result, this page may not display correctly."  Or you may see an error about the ActiveX control being unsigned or unsafe. This is a known problem. The following work around will alllow you to view drawings:

A: Check your Internet Explorer settings.

• Open the Internet Explorer browser
• Open the "Tools" menu
• Click on the menu item titled "Internet Options…"
• Click the "Security" tab
• Click on the globe at the far left titled "Internet"
• Click the "Custom Level…" button close to the bottom of the dialog box
• This should open the "Security Settings" dialog box
• Change the following settings under the heading "ActiveX controls and plug-ins":
  • Set "Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls" to Enable
  • Set "Binary and script behaviors" to Enable
  • Set "Download signed ActiveX controls" to Prompt
  • Set "Download unsigned ActiveX controls" to Prompt
  • Set "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe" to Prompt
  • Set "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins" to Enable
  • Set "Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting" to Enable
  • Accept changes and close all dialog boxes.
