There are many aspects of this mapping application that are not visible to many end users. For example, City of Tacoma employees, in general, can view many more layers of information in the Layer Menu than external customers. The reason for this is due to the fact this one mapping application, and help file, serves the public as well as internal staff.

Viewing restrictions, if any, are based on user roles. User roles are assigned upon request and authorization given to users who are logged into the govME system.

Viewing restrictions can be found in the Layer Menu, Toolbar, and Tab Menu.

Layer Menu - There many layers of information not visible to the public in the Layer Menu. There are even some layers visible to just a small group of users assigned to User Roles.

All restricted groups, folders, and layers have the symbol  next to it denoting that there is limited viewing for this item. Click on this symbol to view those restrictions.

Toolbar - There are just a few toolbar buttons that have viewing restrictions. For the most part these restrictions are limited to internal staff and test users.

All restricted toolbar buttons (in the list below the toolbar) have the symbol  next to it denoting that there is limited viewing for this item. Click on this symbol to view those restrictions.

Tab Menu - All of the tabs in the Tab Menu are currently visible to the public. However, there are aspects within certain tabs that have viewing restrictions. For example, within the links tab there are several links to related map objects that are only visible to users in defined user roles.
