The Zoom In option puts the mouse pointer in the Zoom In "mode" while in the mapping window. Zoom In mode allows the user to increase magnification by a factor of two or zooms in to a specific area of the map.

To magnify by a factor of two, click a point on the mapping window to indicate the center of the magnified area.
To zoom to a specific area, drag a rectangle around the desired area in the mapping window, and then release the mouse button to zoom to the enclosed area.
